We were delighted to have Christian Purslow as one of our special guests for a Q&A session at our AGM on Wednesday 16th January. Here’s an overview of what he had to say when quizzed by Trust members. Q1. Can supporters be auto-enrolled as members of the Trust as part of the season ticket renewal process? A. CP was not averse to the idea and would consider the matter. However, he was not in favour of imposing membership on all supporters and also the club needs…

SIR DOUG ELLIS 1924 – 2018

On behalf of our members, we are sad to read of Sir Doug’s death. Fully committed to Aston Villa until the last and also a generous contributor to the  Trust he will be missed by all who came into contact with him. Peter Warrilow and Mo Razzaq were invited to an informal Fans Consultation Group meeting last night to meet the representatives of Wes Edens and Naseef Sawaris. Investment in Aston Villa

Members and supporters will no doubt be delighted to hear of the 55% investment made by Messrs Sawiris and Edens. This appears to have resolved the short-term funding issue faced by our football club. Whilst it is acknowledged that the last two weeks must have been difficult for senior people at the club, it is disappointing that they did not respond to our request for a meeting. Accordingly, we have repeated that request and are hopeful that on this occasion we will be able to…

I know that we have attracted some attention in these uncertain times and we will do all we can to ensure the club is on an even keel. As always though, not only is your voice important but so is that of your friends and family members. Please encourage them to sign up as well. The more members we have the more potent…

What next? (Part Two)

The AVST Board love the Summer normally. It is when we get to step away from football, watch a bit of cricket and do all of the family stuff we put off for ten months each year. It hasn’t worked out like that over the last few days though… We released a statement what seems like weeks rather than days ago now requesting that the club make clear to our members, and all supporters, what Plan B entails. We said that our support can deal…
