Anne-Marie Fern and Peter Warrilow were invited on 5th November to an introductory meeting at Villa Park with Tom Fox, the new Chief Executive, at which Nicky Keye, Russell Jones and Lee Preece were also present.
Tom is American born and joined Aston Villa from Arsenal. It is clear that he has a vision for Aston Villa and that he would not have joined had he believed that the Club was likely to be fundamentally changed in the short term.
He recognises that everything stems from on field success, that our aim must be more stability and a winning team that attracts the fans back to Villa Park. It is vital that we must generate more non directly football related income in order to invest in the playing and development of staff. New back room staff have been recruited in an effort to improve the success ratio of both maturing and new talent.
We undertook to share with Tom the results of our fan survey and at which time we could have a more in depth discussion on his plans for the future.
We formed the view that Tom is an excellent signing for the club and, with added investment from Randy Lerner, that the future is brighter but that of course is all down to better performances from the team.
