The Aston Villa Supporters Trust welcomes the news of Paul Lambert’s departure with cautious optimism.
It has been clear since our survey last season that support for Paul was in short supply and that has only been magnified by performances this season.
We feel it is for the best for both parties, Paul and the club, to part company at this time.
We wish Paul the very best for the future and appreciate his forthright, and dignified statement, in response to the decision.
We must now ensure we employ the very best man to secure our Premier League status and to take this club forward, ensuring there is no repetition of our continued relegation battles of previous seasons.
