Results: Away Ticket Pricing for SWFC survey

    By Admin | AVST News | Comments are Closed | 6 August, 2016 | 0

Thanks to all supporters and members who took part in our survey on away ticket pricing for SWFC tomorrow.  We have now closed the poll and the results are as follows:

    Fair pricing for Away Supporters

EFL clubs have not set a limit on away supporter ticket pricing like the Premier Clubs have done (£30 limit) following extensive campaigning by Premier League supporter trusts.  The Villa fan base agree that fair pricing in the Championship should be below this £30 limit with 99.1% support. The breakdown was as follows:

    Ticket pricing > £30  = 0.9%

    Ticket pricing at £30 = 25.5%

    Ticket pricing at £25 = 40.9%

    Ticket pricing at £20 = 32.7%

This supports our letter to AVFC that ticket pricing in the Championship, home and away, needed to be affordable.  The pricing set by SWFC is obscene and we support the FSF campaign to monitor and stand against excessive ticket pricing. Some EFL clubs have started reciprocal arrangements like those started by Swansea a few years back and adopted by Villa.  We hope that AVFC will continue to work with EFL clubs to reduce pricing for Villa supporters, and we will continue to lobby for this on your behalf.

    Protesting at SWFC

Supporters and members have voted to support a protest at SWFC.  The largest proportion of the vote was a complete boycott of attending SWFC at 39.4%, whilst 35.8% preferred a protest inside the ground and 5.7% stated support for protest by delayed entry. For those attending tomorrow, there will be a “Robbers” protest (as outlined on My Old Man Said website), so please make your feelings known to SWFC that this excessive pricing is not only unacceptable to Villa supporters, but to SWFC supporters too who have suffered for too long with these prices.

There is a large proportion at 19.1% who stated no action & to support the team whatever the price.

As can be seen from the sell out of our allocation at SWFC (over 4,000 followers) but also the sell out for Luton and Derby, we have a magnificent fan base who support AVFC.  Be loud and proud tomorrow, support the team and support the protest against obscene ticket pricing. UTV!
