The AVST welcomes the news that our search for a new manager has been concluded with the appointment of Rémi Garde. Whilst all managerial appointments are a gamble of sorts, this appointment looks forward thinking and his previous work fits well with the make-up of our current playing squad.
After the events of recent weeks, it is now vital that everyone starts to pull in the same direction in order that we can quickly remedy our alarming position in the league table. We trust that every effort will be made to assist the new manager in getting together the back room team that he believes is required to achieve this and that, should he deem new players are necessary in the January transfer window, he will be supported to bring in what is needed. Our long suffering supporters are due some optimism after what we have been witnessing for a number of years now.
