    FCG – NEW OWNERS

    By Mo Razzaq | AVST News | Comments are Closed | 26 July, 2018 | 0

Peter Warrilow and Mo Razzaq were invited to an informal Fans Consultation Group meeting last night to meet the representatives of Wes Edens and Naseef Sawaris.

The intention was for them to meet supporters and to listen to their views about the club, good and bad, as well as on the workings of the FCG. As it was an introductory meeting we did not discuss anything at length but it was reassuring that they wanted to maintain a dialogue with fans and stressed the importance of the FCG. So there was not the opportunity to discuss matters such as FFP, Jack Grealish and Steve Bruce.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Messrs Edens and Sawiris joined us. We had a brief discussion on their involvement and plans for the future. Their approach was measured and about building a sustainable club. They came across as astute and professional individuals who fully recognise the importance of Aston Villa FC and its supporters. It’s a positive sign and gives us faith that we are now in better hands.

On leaving for the pre-season game versus West Ham, Naseef Sawiris told us that Steve Bruce will be staying on as manager.

We will keep you informed as matters develop.

If you have any questions that you would like to be addressed at the next meeting or specific issues that you would like to raise with the Club please mail clubliaison@villatrust.org.uk
