So it is goodbye Bruce and hello to whoever is the replacement.
We make a point at the Trust of not overstepping our boundaries on what happens on the pitch. We might have a view on how the football side is going. Though primarily we are here to represent supporters on a variety of issues such as ticket pricing, safe standing etc…. We also work in the community by supporting grassroots football. It isn’t for us to demand the manager’s head on a pike outside the ground on a match day.
It is worth comment though re Bruce. He came, made us defensively tighter initially and left us pretty much where we started and a fair few quid worse off.
Some members have been sharpening that pike I mentioned before for a long time and others would still give him more time to resolve things. Such is life.
We won’t comment on who the club might bring in next at this point. But all we will say is that more of the same won’t be tolerated. We need an appointment that shows some ambition, both to get promoted but also to keep us up, should we be successful in that. Something enjoyable to watch would be a start.
I guess our message is to thank him for stopping the rot but agree that maybe someone else needs a shot if we are to achieve promotion. Onwards and upwards.
