In our 2nd spotlight on Directors standing for election at the forthcoming AGM, we welcome Simon Goodyear who will be responsible for membership.
Simon lives in Warwickshire and is a life-long Aston Villa and England fan and is the son of the late, David Goodyear, the well-known Midlands author and former official AV Historian.
Simon decided that he would fulfil his father’s desire to write a biography of his boyhood footballing hero, Villa icon Gerry Hitchens, shortly after his father sadly passed away in October 2008. He has since written and published four further books (including an Italian version of the Gerry Hitchens book) and has other projects in the pipeline, including penning the Peter Withe autobiography. Simon was also a feature writer for the Villa Times magazine until recently.
